Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to Me! My Valentine quilt is back!  It was not lost or stolen as previously supposed.  It was in the dungeon of my basement. Each year it seems there is one bag of wrapping paper, ribbons, etc. that just kind of get shoved into the basement to be sorted out "later". This morning I decided that THIS YEAR I would carefully sort through the leftovers and file them in their appropriate location, ribbons in the ribbon box, gift bags with the other gift bags... anyway, I was rewarded for my efforts. There was a Target bag in the bottom of the bag I was sorting into and in it was the valentine quilt "Hot Lovin" that I thought was gone forever. Yay!

Look, look! A clean  horizontal surface. Now I won't knock fabric, DVD's, rulers and other assorted items onto the floor when I machine quilt.

I bought this cutting table at JoAnn's a couple of years ago. Love it! This is just half. The other side folds out for almost 8 feet of cutting/basting space which until last week was impossible because there was fabric and blocks for 3, count 'em 3 quilts stacked on top. Parts are now all in their own plastic bags (Carol Sc) and I have my table back.

Now if I can just find space for my new IPOD dock. Might have to move some fabric. Oh Nooooo!

Happy New Year to you too! I like seeing your sewing space - esp what you've done with your quilt books. Mine are overflowing - maybe I need another bookcase in my sewing room...

Congratulations on finding your quilt. See you do get rewards for doing the right thing!!!! I love your quilting space. I have been spending the day in my quilt room too. I think its a great way to start the new year.

Of course, I wouldn't want anyone to visit my quilt space, although for the most part I like my mess. It seems comforting to me.
Glad to see you found your quilt. Do you think that my missing Kaliedoscope template will be found. I hope it doesn't take a year or more. I know I put somewhere "safe", but where that is I don't know.
Happy New Year.

Gee --- I know about finding what was lost and now is found! ... a clean, flat surface --- maybe that should be my New Year's resolution! --- not taking any guesses on how long it would stay that way. It does, however, do my heart good, to hear that others knock rulers, fabric, etc. off the pile! Happy New Year to you, too!
